We are judgemental. Looks are deceptive. Having an open-mind is the key to live in peace and harmony with other fellow beings.
Though, I wrote this in eighth grade, this thought is more relevant than ever, considering the present happenings around the world. I would like you all to hear me out. Through this piece, I would like to convey that all living beings must be treated equally and given respect, regardless.
I turned back to see, how she may be,
But then realized, it wasn’t my cup of tea,
Had she fallen off a cliff or,
Was she stuck in a lift?
It was highlighted on her bright countenance,
A dark, black, big fence,
It was scary to look at,
But she did not bother about that,
This haunted me even in my dreams,
The minute I saw it, I screamed
Gathering all my courage, I went to see her,
At the very sight, my vision went blur,
She knew why I was there, reading my stare,
She said it was a mark by birth and only she knew its worth,
I was startled and pained,
Was her life all in vain?
No, is my reply,
If it is a yes, then tell my why?
