PS: If it isn’t very evident that sports are an essential part of my life, do have a look at my previous blogs!

I am a sprinter as well as a long-distance runner. My sprint events are 100 and 200 meters. I started running long distances for the purpose of improving stamina, strength, and endurance. I am comfortable running distances up to 21 km (Haven’t ever tried beyond this, so can’t say for sure). When I say I am comfortable running these distances, by no means do I imply it is an easy task.
For me, running is synonymous with any task that requires persistence, and consistency, and is time-bound. I started running these distances about 5 years ago. Off late, cycling is my favorite.

The post-run/post-cycling physical exertion and fatigue are weirdly satisfying and give me a great sense of accomplishment. The feeling is the same each time. [there is definitely a chemical aspect to this, the release of hormones and so on]
I usually run on my own, unless I find company; which is very rare. I like going at my own pace, but sometimes, running alone can get very boring and I lose a sense of motivation and focus. Keeping up the spirit and completing despite everything around has truly taught me endurance — both physical and mental. It has shown me that you will never know how much you are capable of till you ever try. In today’s lifestyle, I think mental endurance is equally important, whether it is holding up during a college exam or a family crisis.
Enough is said about the benefits of staying active and exercising, it is also important to ensure that your body has the required strength and nutrition to keep going and supporting you.

The bottom line is to ensure Sustainability and Strength in everything.
