Pink flowers at Cubbon Park, part of today’s route !

This was long pending on my bucket list. I finally did it today. I got a new cycle last month, I went on shorter rides over the past weeks. It required a little pre-planning, the route, the time, and the pace.

I was up and ready by 6:00 am, it was cold and dark outside. Waited till the sun rose, and off I went. I started at 6:52 am to be precise. It was around 17 degrees outside.

The first 10 kilometers were hard, my feet and hands numb, thighs getting used to the gradient of the roads. After about 15 kilometers, my body was warmed up and ready. The next 20-odd kilometers were great. The scenery around was beautiful, with barely any vehicles on a lazy Sunday morning.

Once, I reached around 40 kilometers, my legs were extremely sore. I stopped for a few minutes, drank tender coconuts, and ate a bowl of fruit. I was headed home, this was probably the hardest part of my ride. I pushed through, focussing on the goal I had set for myself.

At the end of 3 hours and 39 minutes, I finally completed 52.84 km. I was pleased beyond measure!
