In the second week of March, when I was scrolling through my LinkedIn feed, I came across the LinkedIn CoachIn Mentorship program. The eligibility criteria were female students pursuing a B.E degree, graduating in 2023. The description was as follows :

Details of the program at https://coachin2021.splashthat.com/

Without thinking twice, I filled out the registration form. I received an email with regard to the first round.

Details regarding the first round

The first round had 3 coding questions and 1 essay. The questions were of LeetCode Easy to Medium level. The word limit for the essay was 400 words. I wrote a little about the reason I chose Computer Science at college and why the CoachIn mentorship program would benefit me.

After a week, I heard back from HR at LinkedIn and a few questions such as my interests, why I wanted to be a part of the mentorship, how many hours in a week I can dedicate to the mentorship, and so on were asked.

On 02–04–2021, I received an email that stated that I was selected for the program.

Tips :

  • Practice questions on Data Structures and Algorithms regularly
  • Think about the key points that will be included in the essay beforehand and try not to make any spelling/grammatical errors

And finally, trust the process and believe in yourself :)

The program was from April 2021 — to September 2021. It has definitely been a great experience. A detailed program flow was provided at the start of the program, so it was easy for us to plan and prepare accordingly.

The main highlights of the program for me were :

  • Mock interviews and tests scheduled based on Data Structures and Algorithms
  • Speaker sessions where senior and junior engineers from Linkedin spoke on various topics and gave us a lot of insights on what is happening in the industry currently
  • A great community of like-minded individuals! We are a group of 40 young women constantly empowering each other and taking inspiration from each other 🤗
  • An opportunity to appear for the online assessments which could land you an internship at Linkedin for the next summer!
  • And last but not the least, branded swags from Linkedin :))

I share my dev journey, all my experiences, and learnings here
