She can see the finish line in her field of view, it’s finally a relief to be able to catch a glimpse of the end. She plans to spend her effort and resources in accordance with an approximate estimation of the distance. She resumes her journey in the hope of reaching the end and resting after. It’s a mix of emotions, at this point, it reminds her of the highest highs and lowest lows. Both motivate her to get to the finish line, the former, in anticipation of what she can possibly achieve in the distance remaining, and the latter, to move on and complete it, as this has been a tiring journey.

There are others around, each moving at their own pace, each attempting to finish in the best way possible.

She progresses further, but the end line is farther than before. Is this an illusion? She pauses to ensure she is not mistaken and is certainly not. Since it’s the first time, she continues. In anxiety, the second time she stops a passer-by. “How much farther ?”, she asks, the passer-by is confused at this. The passer-by very kindly lends her some resources, and off she goes again. She asks for help a third time but is greeted with irritation and disdain. It was obvious that this dependency wouldn’t last long. She befriended a couple of folks along the way, where were they?

She is running out of resources now, her resource allocation plan is a failure. The distance estimate was incorrect. She is worried now, neither does she know how much farther she has to go, nor can she plan or ask for help. She is left on her own, only she can control her destiny.

At this point, she decides to go with the flow — the only option left. And so she continues, spending resources only where and when absolutely necessary, recouping and gathering resources where she can.
This strategy works. She is happy and confident now, the apprehensions gone. It hits her now, why the passer-by was confused by her question. She doesn’t worry about how much farther, her only focus is to live in the present moment, enjoy it to the fullest and give her best.
