In the month of November, I came across a mentorship program conducted by IIE (International Institute of Education) in association with Goldman Sachs. My college, R.V College Of Engineering was one of the colleges eligible for the mentorship opportunity.

This is the link to the scholarship opportunity is: https://www.iie.org/en/Programs/WeTech/STEM-Scholarships-for-Women/Goldman-Sachs-Scholarship

Eligibility

As I met all the requirements, I decided to apply for the opportunity.

Application Procedure

The application procedure for this scholarship was very elaborate. The first section was about personal details, education, and other generic information. The next section involved three essay questions. These questions were based on our interests and motivation behind pursuing a career in STEM. The next section required the submission of Letters Of Recommendation from 2 professors/a professor from college and a school teacher. I approached my professor at college and a teacher at school for the same. A timeline of about 2 months was mentioned on the website.

January 18th was the deadline, I ensured to submit my application well before the deadline.

Results

On February 18th, I was contacted by WeTech and asked to submit my official transcript, as I was unable to procure the official copy earlier due to COVID-19. Finally, on March 12th, I received a confirmation stating that I was one of the 50 recipients of the scholarship. I was overjoyed!!
